Cats, Dogs and Smaller Animals
Cats, dogs and smaller animals such as hamster’s can be taken in the car with you. Make sure they have enough food and water for the journey. Make sure you bring your leash for your dog, you don’t want to arrive at your new home and your dog runs off into the distance! Cover the cages of the smaller animals with a towel or blanket, this will help keep them calm and cool, make sure they have enough food and water first though.

If the drive is quite long, take regular breaks, and allow your pets out to walk about. If you will be staying at a hotel on the way then make sure the hotel allows pets.
