Moving - Packing


Before you begin, make sure you have the tools and materials needed to do the packing, these can include; Boxes, marking pen, bubble wrap, newspaper and tissue, Tape, scissors and tape measure.

Either source or buy stronger boxes for breakable/damageable items etc

Pack electronic equipment in the original boxes if you still have them. If you are unsure about connecting things such as TV’s and VCR’s back up, make sure you label each lead.

If you remove screws from furniture etc, tape them to the items they were removed from.

Label each box with the following information:

The order it should be loaded in: either first, middle or last. Don’t forget that boxes loaded first will be removed last.

Whether it is fragile

Which room it should go in

Wrap the fragile items in bubble wrap or fissure paper.

Have all of your rugs and curtains cleaned when you move, keep them in packaging until you arrive in your new home.

Carry all of your valuables with you.
